The special edition V8 Vantage S SP10 was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show alongside a similar roadster version in February 2013. Initially it was announced that the SP10 would only be built in LHD form for continental Europe, although eventually is also became available in RHD for the UK market. The car was been inspired by the success of the V8 Vantage GT4 particularly in the VLN endurance championship at the Nürburgring. If you were wondering, the name, SP10, is the class that the GT4 competes in.

When the Vantage SP10 was launched it was considered rather special as it was the first time that the V8 Vantage S had been made available in combination with the six speed manual gearbox. When introduced the "S" was only ever intended to receive the Sport-shift 2 Gearbox
